Parks, Parks, Parks

Today I was visited at the Aarhus center by the head of urban planning at the municipality. He informed me that not only did the Mayor support my initiative to focus on greening but is putting me and Dori- a colleague- in charge of it.
What does this mean? This means, if I understood him correctly, that the mayor has approved 200,000 Euros for the rehabilitation of the parks in Vlore. For me, it means an opportunity to lead by example- come up with great designs, engage the public in useful and meaningful dialogue about what they want and show why parks are worth saving.

In all my trips throughout Albania- one sticks out the most in my mind. It was a trip to the south to a town called Lin on the way to Pogradec. It was the summer and it was so hot. My friend was visiting and we were approached my two boys. They asked if we wanted to see the museum. I knew thee was no museum- there couldn't be- but as my friend looked skeptically at me I said sure let's go. I'll finish the story later but I wanted to give a start for the pics.
